Oh tell me about it, my last 4 months in NS were inflicted by
this new BSC doomsday device, and a lot of ISO talk. All the talk
about balancing this and that.
Suddenly the whole workshop's processes became streamlined,
personnel sent out to other units to "pre-empt" higher level
problems from happening.
And guess what, units didn't have the equipment do perform
intermediate level maint. and our roving personnel rotted away
there while the SAME equipment came back to our workshop and depot,
and piled up due to lack of in-house personnel.
Lower cost, longer hours for the chaps, faster up-time(while
measured by Sent For Repair) and overall higher downtime( when
measured by actual physical condition and inventory).
What a load of bollocks. And morale went down, all for the sake of
keeping up appearences of customer priority and
"productivity".Sure, it's easy to look busy when your load has
doubled and your manpower has fallen by half. And you get a CPL and
two 3SGs doing the work of 3 2WOs (as expected in the estab)
